Rules
High Hand Bonus
Last updated: November 8th, 2025. For fairness, rules will not be changed until there is a winner and the bonus resets.
To be eligible for an entire game, contribute 5BB extra ($10 at $1/$2) with your first buy in.
- Minimum qualifying hand: any quads.
- Both hole cards must play.
- Hand does not need to reach showdown.
- Only Texas Hold ‘Em hands are eligible (no PLO bomb pot, for example).
- When all in and running it more than once, any board counts.
- Cards must be shown and validated by host.
- Winner is the best qualifying hand at the end of the night.
- If you have quads but later someone gets a straight flush the bonus goes to the latter person.
- No ties: in the case of an exact tie (including kickers), the bonus goes to the first person to have hit the hand.
- Kickers matter: quad 3s with an 8 is beat by quad 3s with a 9.
If the bonus is not hit, half of the money collected will roll over to the next game (the other half is kept for expenses). To be eligible at the next game, you must contribute 5BB again.
Example
Assuming weekly $1/$2 and 9 players always contribute:
- 1st week the bonus is $90
- 2nd week the bonus is $135 ($90 + $45 rolled over)
- 3rd week the bonus is $180 ($90 + $45 * 2)
- And so on
